 Dear Diary,

I had a week to acquire the readings from Al or Heather and then read them. I didn't. I started a new job, I skipped a few classes, I went to a few I usually skip, I went to Requiem, I took up art journaling, I bought Kelly's presents, we celebrated his birthday, I fell asleep and now I'm panicking about an exam I have I on Friday that I'm sure to fail. Yes, Diary, I should have done them. I didn't attend seminar last week, you see, and since I'm always the bombastic blabbermouth in that class, my secret will no doubt be exposed and I will be ruthlessly mocked. Oh dear, however have I gotten myself into this mess? Alas! There is no hope for me!

Most creative procrastination: The old "if you just get some fucking work done you can have a nice, hot shower", "ew, I can't get any work done, I need a shower but they always make me want to take a five hour nap" paradox. Closely related to the old "I can't get any work done in this pigpen" / "I don't have anytime to clean this pigpen, don't you know I have an essay to write!" dilemma. Yesterday I decided to put up the Christmas tree. Don't judge me. It's December.

The Plan:

Okay, I haven't given much thought to how I'll manage to get my Tuesday essay done, since it's twice as long and I know the topic half as well but here's my plan as of 12:06am the night before the first one is due.

I'm going to have that shower, go to bed and get up at 6:00am. I'm going to drink an icecold Coke and chase it with some Dayquil to get the day rolling. I'm gonna fire off that stupid little essay, it'll be done by noon even if writer's block sucker-punches me all morning, then I'll get the outline and bibliography done for the next one before Kelly's game tomorrow. Immediately after I will go to bed, repeat the get-up-early process with the Coke and Dayquil and have it ready by late class Tuesday (6:30pm). On Wednesday I will sleep and buy people presents. At some point I might consume a lot of brandy since that is the only kind of liquor we have here.
